Applying Animation

Introduction

In order to apply the animation to a rigged charater, we simply have to load the character into Motion Builder and Apply the animation

  • Load Character If you are using the default characters, which should be stored under the Asset Browser window; you can drag and drop one of those into a new scene (FBX Open -> No Animation
  • Load Animation Under the Character Controls window you need to select the character from the drop down menu (e.g. Woody) and then we click File and then Load Character Animation..; this should provide us with a file dialog window to which we can find an animation only FBX file (e.g. the one we imported), by opening this file it will apply the animation to the character.

Below the Character "Woody" has had an animation file applied to his skeleton, we can see he is standing in the T-Pose
